Dr. David Barbour is a grandson of a Baptist Preacher, the late Reverend John Vernon Barbour, who pastored churches in North Carolina and Florida. David was saved at the age of 10, and he began teaching Sunday school at when he was 16 years old and working with youth at 20 years old. David has served on the National Association of FWB Randall Association Youth Board, and as youth camp director for 5 years. He has also directed church-wide youth programs. David attends Branch Chapel Church in Selma, North Carolina, where he teaches an adult Sunday School class.
David graduated from Carolina Bible Institute and Seminary in Pine Level, North Carolina, where he earned a Diploma in the Bible and Graduate in Theology degree. He also holds Doctorate in Educational Technology Management from Northcentral University, a Master of Science in Industrial Technology-Digital Communication from East Carolina University, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Barton College, and an Associate in Science in Electronic Engineering Technology from Johnston Community College.
David lives in Smithfield, NC and is married to Connie Barbour. His son, Austin, is married to Britney Barbour, and they have daughters Lexi, Tenley, and Laney Britt. David and Connie’s daughter, Emma, is a 9th grader at Neuse Charter School in Smithfield.
David works for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, creating and overseeing high school programs including Law Enforcement, Firefighting, Manufacturing Technology, and Drone Piloting. He is a Licensed NC Public School teacher certified to teach Digital Media, Electronics, Computer and Network Engineering, Technology Education, and Drones. He is also a sports official for high school and youth league sports. Additionally, Dr. Barbour serves as a Councilman for the town of Smithfield.
