theBattleIsWithin.com is a website dedicated to helping Christians get prepared for the battles they face every day. The hardest battle we all face does not come from without but from within. It is not what the world can do to us but how we react to what they do to us that really makes the difference.

Rev. Dr. David R. Barbour has over 46 years of service in working for the Lord and has faced many battles during that time period. He recognizes his biggest battles have all come from within.

Dr. David Barbour Biography

Dr. David Barbour is a grandson of a Free Will Baptist Preacher, the late Reverend John Vernon Barbour, who pastored churches in North Carolina and Florida. David was ordained on October 10, 2021 as a Minister in the Western Conference of the Original Free Will Baptist.

David was saved at the age of 10, and he began teaching Sunday school when he was 16 years old and working with youth at 20 years old. David has served on the National Association of FWB Randall Association Youth Board and served as their youth camp director for 5 years. He has also directed church-wide youth programs. David preachers where the Lord gives him an opportunity and runs theBattleIsWithin.com ministry that includes recorded sermons, Bible study series, and daily devotions. H and his family attend Branch Chapel Original Free Will Baptist Church in Selma, North Carolina.

David graduated from Carolina Bible Institute and Seminary in Pine Level, North Carolina, where he earned a Diploma in the Bible and Graduate in Theology degree. He also holds a Doctorate in Educational Technology Management from Northcentral University, a Master of Science in Industrial Technology-Digital Communication from East Carolina University, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Barton College, and an Associate in Science in Electronic Engineering Technology from Johnston Community College.

David lives in Smithfield, NC and is married to Connie Barbour. His son, Austin, is married to Britney Barbour, and they have daughters Lexi, Tenley, and Laney Britt. David and Connie’s daughter, Emma, is in high school at Neuse Charter School in Smithfield.

David works for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, creating and overseeing high school programs including Law Enforcement, Firefighting, Manufacturing Technology, and Drone Piloting. He is a Licensed NC Public School teacher certified to teach Digital Media, Electronics, Computer and Network Engineering, Technology Education, and Drones. He is a certified FAA Remote Drone Pilot. He is also a sports official for high school and youth league sports. Additionally, Dr. Barbour serves as a Councilman for the town of Smithfield.
