Does your church theology really matter?

Question for you to answer: “Does your church theology really matter?”. I ask this question because I am reading a book on the history of the Original Free Will Baptist (Armenian) and how the Particular Baptist (Calvinist) was able to convince a large number of the ministers at that time (1750 AD) their theology was wrong and the particular baptist was correct. We would hope people attend the church that most closely conforms to their Biblical Beliefs.

That being said, I see today many that abandon their church theology for a different type of worship service, a different type of music. Now I am not saying that is not important. What I am saying is “How can you conform to what you believe the Bible says one day and then the next deny the very Biblical truths you know are correct for other things in a different church? What do you suppose God will value more, the music, the worship format, or the Preaching and teaching of His word. If you have left a Biblical church because you wanted new music or a different worship style, is that not the same as cheating on your spouse? The Church is the Bride of Christ and therefore the Word is the most important thing. Don’t let other things take you out of the main thing. If you have done that, God will not reward your efforts. He may even have to “burn your barley field”

You know I believe if you were to leave the church you are cheating with and go back to your true church, He and the members would welcome you back where you belong.

    1. Theology essentially, and primarily means ‘the study of God.’ Doctrine means ‘teaching’ or ‘instruction.’
